For application information, please read the following prospectus carefully and visit the admission website of the university: http://admissions.xmu.edu.cn/ for detail information. Below listed the general information.

When you have applied online through the university website and sent your application materials by post, please also take a few minutes to fill the Information Form for WISE. Since admission office will send the qualified application material to us after a period of time. This will help us to match up the application information from the admission office and help speed the application process.

Eligibility

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree.

English Proficiency Requirements: TOEFL or IELTS with a minimum requirement of 80 points or above for New TOEFL, grade 6.0 or above for IELTS, or on presentation of a certificate from some other approved test of English proficiency. Native English speakers and applicants whose teaching language during undergraduate study is English are exempt from this requirement.

Admission Procedure

Online application

Applicants should make online application at http://admissions.xmu.edu.cn/applicationOnline application is necessary. Application form will be generated automatically only after successful online application. Download and print the form. The office will not deal with the application materials if applicants don't finish the online application.

Submission of application documents

Application documents should be sent by post to: Admissions Office, Xiamen University, Fujian Province, P. R. China 361005 Application materials sent by post should reach the Admissions Office by the deadline.

Application process

Note: If you have difficulty in the application process, please contact with us.

Admission decisions will be made considering the applicants' academic performance, overall quality and Program preferences. Applicants who need to take interview or test will be informed in advance. Applicants who are admitted will receive their admissions notice and Visa Application Form (JW202) in 40 days after the submission of application fee and the arrival of hardcopy documents.

Note: Applicants should log into the online application system ( http://admissions.xmu.edu.cn/application) timely to find out the result and detailed information regarding the sending of admission package.

Documents to Submit

Applicants must provide copy of the following materials completed truly and correctly:

• Application Form for International Students. The form should be completed in Chinese or English and printed out after successful online application.

• Notarized copy of bachelor degree. Applicants who are currently studying at university should provide study certificate. Certificate in languages other than Chinese or English must have notarized translation into Chinese or English attached.

• Notarized photocopy of transcripts during undergraduate study. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must have notarized translations into Chinese or English attached.

• A study or research plan in Chinese or English (minimum 1000 words).

• Two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English by professors or associate professors.

• Photocopy of Chinese (HSK) or English Proficiency Certificate.

• Photocopy of valid passport.

• Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form(click here to download)completed in Chinese or English. (Please keep the original.)

• Assurance Certificate of Financial Liability: the applicants must have sufficient funds to cover all tuition fees, accommodation and living expenses.

Note:
1.Applicants who apply more than two scholarships should fill in related scholarship forms, but only submit one copy of completed application materials. Applicants who apply as self-supporting students should fill in the application form and submit one copy of completed application materials.
2.Please submit all the required materials. Application materials above will not be returned to applicants whether they are accepted or not.
